What Is A Trade License?
The Trade License has introduced in India 40 years ago. It is a measure used to regulate specific businesses at a particular locality. A Trade License is issued by the State Government and includes the permission to carry out a specific act of trade or business at the premises for which the license has been issued. A Trade License does not assure the owners of any kind of property ownership. They are not permitted to conduct any other businesses other than the one for which it has been issued. It is mandatory for an individual to register their new business and get an online trade license to continue operations.
The major aim of the trade license is to reduce industrial establishments and companies from using residential areas as their business premises. The application shall be made within 30 days of commencement of business. A Trade License can be issued to establishments only if they are operating at areas approved by the State Government to be used as Commercial Premises. This is described as a “Commercial, local commercial, notified commercial, mixed land use or a residential area with small shops of maximum 20 sq.m. on the ground floor only.”
Documents Required For Trade License
- Pan Card of the establishment(Company, LLP or a Partnership Firm).
- A canceled cheque and the bank statement of the said establishment.
- The Certificate of Incorporation, MOA, and AOA of the company or LLP(OR A Partnership Agreement or deed).
- Address Proof of the said establishment: Sale Deed, Electricity Bill or water bill, and a No Objection Certificate from the owner, if leased.
- A coloured photograph, PAN card, ID Proof, and address proof of all the Directors or Managing Partners.
- Front-Facing photograph of the said establishment displaying the goods traded using the premises.
- The site or key plan/map showing the premises under the occupation of the applicant while earmarking the locality of the site.
